This Sunday Coral Springs Off-Road Track hosted round 3 of the South Florida Off Road Championship Series. With 130 entries, it would make for a long day of tough competition and a lot of different track conditions. In the 4wd mod class there would be about 25 entries or so. I was able to TQ the first round with my XB4 2014 by about 6 seconds over 6th place which was also an XB4 2014. I felt something wrong with the rear end of the car towards the end of my run. I took it apart between qualifiers and found the problem with the barrel for the rear center drive shaft. I replaced the parts and was ready for round 2.
Round 2 had the sun coming out heat the track up which brought out a great groove. I switched to just a soft compound tire over a supersoft. I had a little bit of an issue with lapped traffic but still managed to reset TQ by about a second over second place and would be starting on point going into the main. The problem with the rear end was fixed so I just had to charge batteries.

For the main I decided to go back to a supersoft compound tire as in the sun was setting and the track had cooled a lot. When the tone went off myself and second qualifier Daimon Borkowicz pulled away from the rest of the field. On lap 2, I had a bobble which allow second place to get by. For the remainder of the race he led with me chasing in nose to tail battle. With 3 laps to go he would have an issue with lapped traffic which finally and gave me an opening for me to finally slip by. He chased with 3 laps to go on staying on my bumper. On the second to last turn he was able to muscle his was passed me for the lead but I would muscle my way back on the last turn for and exciting finish. I would take the win in an exciting race by just .4 seconds. Thanks to the track crew for an incredible layout and surface for us to race on, and thanks to my sponsors for their help and support.
